Rams (7-1) at Texans (1-6) | Game Preview

The three game cupcake slate comes to an end on Halloween afternoon for the Los Angeles Rams as they fly down to Houston to take on the Texans at NRG Stadium. This is the end of a part of the schedule where the Rams' last three opponents have combined 3 wins. The Rams enter this game as heavy favorites despite losing out on veteran left tackle Andrew Whitworth to a knee injury. Defensive backs Jalen Ramsey, Robert Rochell and team captain Jordan Fuller all are questionable for Sunday. Head Coach Sean McVay anticipates Ramsey's injury shouldn't affect his status and should be a full go when they see kickoff on Sunday. Rochell and Fuller's statuses are more up in the air and will most likely be a game day decision. Both of the players had full participation on Friday which is an incredibly good sign for the defense if they're able to play. After clinching the win against his former team, the Detroit Lions, quarterback Matthew Stafford enters this game with an opportun...

Rams (6-1) Stay Hot as they Topple Winless Lions (0-7) 28-19

It was an incredibly bizarre week 7 in the National Football League that really forced us to never forget the term "any given Sunday". With a Sunday slate that had us observe the AFC super powers, the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens go down in astronomical fashion, it was only fitting that the Los Angeles Rams would make an interesting game out of what should have been a blowout against new Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford's former team, the Detroit Lions. It was an ugly start for the Rams defense who have remained a huge question mark through seven weeks of this season. The first score of the game would be Jared Goff lighting it up against his former team, in his old home of SoFi Stadium. Goff would launch a 63 yard strike to running back D'Andre Swift to put the Lions up by 7 early. Though I was surprised, I had to remind myself that offenses are bred to succeed on the first drive of the game, given that they're a scripted plays with very little chance ...

Jared Goff Returns to L.A. | Week 7 preview Lions (0-6) @ Rams (5-1)

It was quick work in week six as the Rams routed the New York Giants at Metlife Stadium with a score of 38-11. It was a game the Rams should win and outside of a shaky first quarter, the team looked confident on both sides of the ball and did what good teams do: beat bad teams. Safety Taylor Rapp notched an NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance, snagging two interceptions, amassing five tackles and getting in on three pass breakups. Turnovers were the key in this victory as the Rams offense scored touchdowns off of both Rapp picks. It was a strong performance, one that we should come to expect from a squad as talented as this Rams team. The first of three on the cupcake schedule is logged as a win which brings L.A. to a 5-1 record on the season. Now the Rams turn their attention to the winless Detroit Lions as they face L.A. at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. It is a homecoming for former Rams number one overall pick Jared Goff this week, returning to play against the very team ...

Grading Rams First Month of the 2021 Season

Head Coach Sean McVay and his Los Angeles Rams are 4-1 through the first quarter of the 2021 season. It has been a very solid start for McVay and his new quarterback Matthew Stafford at the helm of a very high powered offense in the toughest and deepest division in the NFL. With a month's worth of games under their belt, it's time to grade all 3 phases of the Rams play as they move forward in the fall season. Offense: B McVay wasted absolutely no time this season settling his offense in. The huge chunk play passing attack has been the hill the Rams want to be king of and there's no hiding that whatsoever. As a result, Stafford is ranked #1 in the NFL for Net Yards Per Passing Play at 8.8, only ahead of Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson who are tied at 8.1. Stafford has really been everything this offense has needed to be successful. He's showing poise and patience along with mobility and keeping his eyes downfield in order to make b...

Rams (4-1) Win Over Seahawks (2-3) 26-17 | Recap

It was a bizarre Thursday Night Football game that had a pinch of everything. From mangled quarterback's fingers, to sketchy kickers, to an amazing double punt by Seahawks punter Michael Dickson and last but not least: Geno Smith. It was an ugly first half for the Rams in Seattle on Thursday night. It was a night where a raucous 12th man crowd played their part early and were with their monstrous walls of noise at Lumen Field. QB Matthew Stafford as the Rams offense struggled mightily to get anything going for the first 30 minutes of play. The offense would achieve first downs on their first two possessions and ultimately punt the ball away after getting rung up by the Seattle defense on consecutive drives. When the offense would finally get close to achieving their first touchdown of the game, Stafford would make an atrocious mistake of a throw that was lofted up for ex-Lions teammate Quandre Diggs to intercept in the endzone. A throw that almost always should go into the crowd as...

Rams (3-1) @ Seahawks (2-2) Thursday Night Football Preview

Thursday Night Football always proves to be a test. Coming off a short week of preparation and playing a divisional rival is the toughest game to compete in. It's a massive spot to bounce back for the 2nd place Los Angeles Rams after an embarrassing 37-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. For 3rd place Seattle Seahawks, it's a chance to head back home and snag favorable spot in the division standings after a quality 28-21 win against the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams played atrociously in the game against the Cardinals, there's no denying it. Now they head to a very loud Lumen Field, where Head Coach Sean McVay is 3-2. That's including a playoff win in the wildcard round in 2020 (no fans were allowed in the stadium due to Covid-19). All in all the Rams have played Seattle and Head Coach Pete Carroll very well since McVay's arrival and I believe his success all begins with the defense. The Rams D, more particularly defensive tackle Aaron Donald, have tortured quarterbac...

Recap of Cardinals (4-0) Dominating 37-20 Victory Over Rams (3-1)

Sunday's divisional matchup added up to one catastrophic misstep after another on all fronts for the Los Angeles Rams as they lose in an ugly losing effort against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams offense was out of rhythm for most of the afternoon and could never gain their footing in this game. Matthew Stafford looked pedestrian overall in his effort on Sunday. Stafford went on to throw 2 touchdowns, one to Van Jefferson in the first quarter to take the lead, which would be the last time the Rams would be in control of this game. The Stafford to Cooper Kupp connection was stifled as Kupp would catch just 5 passed for 64 yards and no touchdowns. Stafford would make an incredible seam throw to Kupp between 3 defenders for a 35 yard gain, though.  The Arizona Cardinals pass defense came to play on Sunday. Cornerback Byron Murphy would make one of the big dagger plays for the Cardinals defense. On lame duck throw by Stafford to wide receiver DeSean Jackson, Murphy would intercept the ...

Arizona Cardinals (3-0) @ Los Angeles Rams (3-0) Preview

The first three games of the NFL regular season is very much a buffer for teams to start to catch their strides into the teams they'll ultimately be. A week 4 matchup against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals will have the Rams in another prove it game after toppling the defending Super Bowl Champs a week ago. Young quarterback Kyler Murray and an explosive, high flying offense will come into SoFi Stadium on Sunday to prove that they're no longer the Rams little brother in the division, as they battle for first place in the fierce NFC West. The Rams and Head Coach Sean McVay have owned the Cardinals over the last 4 seasons with an undefeated 8-0 record. Since Cards Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury has come in 3 years ago, the team has gotten more feisty and interesting in the division race but still haven't gotten over the hump of these divisional matchups against the Rams. Over the last 8 losses to the Rams, the closest loss the Cardinals suffered has been by 7. Most matchups bet...
