Rams (7-1) Roll Texans (1-7) 38-22 Recap | Von Miller to Los Angeles

It was nothing but smooth sails and quick work for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Halloween in Houston, Texas.

The Rams improved to 7-1 with a controlling and dominant win over the Houston Texans. It was a win that would come as no surprise to those who are familiar with both teams and the trajectory of their respective seasons.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to push himself to the front of the NFL Most Valuable Player race exiting week eight with a very stout performance. Stafford went 21 for 32 for 305 yards and 3 touchdowns against the abysmal Houston defense that simply had no answers for the Rams offensive attack.

Aiding that attack was the run game, provided by running back Darrell Henderson. Henderson racked up numbers that have been par for the course for him so far this season. Possessing a bulk of the workload, Hendo had 90 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown, as well as a receiving touchdown which would cap a very solid fantasy day for Henderson owners. Wide receiver Robert Woods would score the other rushing touchdown on 16 yard reverse play that would make the game 38-0 going into the fourth quarter.

Wideout Cooper Kupp continues his monstrous string of performances this season as he tallied up 115 yards on 7 receptions and a touchdown catch. Sunday's performance adds to his league leading receiving yards total of 924 yards and ten total receiving touchdowns, which he also remains top dog at this point in the season.

The Rams offense remains one of the ultimate powers in the NFL going into week nine. A level of consistency that was a mere mirage with Jared Goff at the helm is so very noticeable with Stafford. The QB has been the perfect puzzle piece to this team and Head Coach Sean McVay's offense as his totals through eight weeks of the season are 22 touchdowns, 4 interceptions and 2,477 yards which has him second only to Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.

The defense have stiffened up and played well along the stretch, too. Aaron Donald and co. have only given up 42 points in the last three games and have played the alpha dog role in crucial spots against some very bad offenses.

The main headline surrounding this defense is the Rams acquiring Denver Broncos outside line backer Von Miller before the trade deadline on November 2nd.

It's an undoubted huge upgrade at the LB position. Miller was sent to the Rams for the price of 2nd and 3rd round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Rams General Manager Les Snead's method of building through veteran trades and free agent acquisitions have been one of the biggest factors of the team remaining competitive but also just one of the best teams in the NFL during the Sean McVay era. L.A. is a place players want to play and McVay is a leader of men that has the resume that shows he puts his players in outstanding spots to succeed.

Focusing on Miller, he's still a very solid player. The Super Bowl 50 MVP will make an immediate positive impact on a Rams line backer corps that has been meddling since the days of Jeff Fisher. As long as Von can stay healthy, the sky is the limit for this group.

This move pushes the Rams up the totem pole of feared front sevens just mainly in terms of who do you double up? Do you focus on Aaron Donald which has been the key for so many offensive coordinators that take on L.A., or do you put your focus on Von Miller or opposite backer Leonard Floyd? While you put emphasis on who to block, you still have to remind your quarterback to avoid the best corner back in the league in Jalen Ramsey. This defense already had the makings of an absolute nightmare to game-plan against and now yet another element has been poured into the boiling experiment.

This team gets so much more exciting as the season continues. Now that the easy money 3 game slate is over, the Tennessee Titans wait in the wings for a big time Sunday Night Football matchup at SoFi Stadium. An SNF game that the Titans will be without their pound for pound best player in running back Derrick Henry who suffered a foot injury that will have him sidelined for 6-10 weeks. It's a major pity to Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel and OC Todd Downing as they approach a game against a revitalized Rams defense, without their King Henry.

Los Angeles Rams Acquire Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Yet another star of the NFL makes his way to Los Angeles in hopes of aiding a Super Bowl run.  Odell Beckham Jr. was released by the Cleveland Browns on November 8th following posts made by his father on social media in regards to his usage in the Browns offense. A few days before being waived, OBJ was excused from Browns practice and that ultimately led to his release. Ultimately that didn't help Beckham's case for finding a new team as he would tread the free agent waters for a few days. With as young and talented as he is, it isn't a good look. After ongoing rumors of possibly being signed by the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints or Green Bay Packers, just moments after a Sean McVay press conference, it was announced on November 11th by Adam Schefter that OBJ would in fact become a Ram. He joins an absolute stacked and thriving wide receiver room in L.A. with the likes of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson. The wideout signed a one yea...

Rams Get Back on Track With 37-7 Dismantling of the Jags | Rams @ Cardinals Preview

The Los Angeles Rams are back in the win column for the first time in over a month. After a gauntlet of some very decisive losses to some of the toughest competition in the NFL, the Rams regroup after beating up on lost Jags team that's basically begging for the offseason to stop the bleeding. Simply put: Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford made it a point to get back on track after three straight games with pix-sixes. He would throw for 295 yards in this game and toss 3 touchdowns while accomplishing zero turnovers. It was a big spot for Stafford to show he can get right and put up a lot of points against a bad team. Now that the Rams showed that they can beat up on Jacksonville in all three phases, the best team in the NFL looms in the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. Looking Ahead The Rams start a five game gauntlet to close out the 2021 season with a Monday night matchup at State Farm Stadium against the Cardinals. Arizona is without a doubt the hottest team in the NFL...

Matthew Stafford's First Training Camp as a Ram

We are a week into the NFL's preparation phase before games will be played. It's been an incredibly long offseason and preseason football is nearly here. With that, comes a veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is going through his first training camp with the Los Angeles Rams. With a new, exciting offense under his command, the anticipation is quite a huge storyline this NFL season. However with that anticipation, undoubtedly comes high expectations.  Leading up to this moment, Stafford's career with the Detroit Lions has left an aura of doubt shrouded around him. The pure incompetence of the Detroit Lions organization has at least given him the title of Underrated Gunslinger. This being said, the 12 year QB has a lot to prove this year playing alongside a talented WR group he has otherwise rarely had (I won't mention previous WR talent he has played with *ahem*, Calvin Johnson); as well as an offensive minded head coach in Sean McVay that quite literally will bui...
